Australia has been turned into a \u201cnation of victims\u201d by gun control laws, Liberal Democratic senator David Leyonhjelm believes.<\/p>\n
He says this week\u2019s Sydney cafe siege would have been less likely to happen if the gunman thought his hostages might be carrying concealed weapons.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat nutcase who held them all hostage wouldn\u2019t have known that they were armed and bad guys don\u2019t like to be shot back at,\u201d Senator Leyonhjelm told ABC radio on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Instead, he says, \u201cwe are all disarmed victims\u201d and that\u2019s unacceptable.<\/p>\n
